Motorola updates Bionic ICS Update Schedule

That was my attitude back in June/July. Now Im like used to running outdated software on the Bionic, so Im like "Meh, whatever" now. When ICS arrives itll be like "Oh, thats cool. Now i wont have bluetooth issues with my car radio anymore". Lol xD

Just got a new Alpine for my truck, and when connecting via bluetooth, Pandora keeps cutting out and losing sound. Works fine with Google music. I was a tad upset, wondering if it was the deck. Maybe ICS will help me out....

By that time I have an upgrade coming...might as well see what other phones come out at that time

For me, the issues happen when I'm first trying to connect the phone to my car radio. I have a JVCKDX50BT in my car, and about 90% of the time the
radio will either not find my phone at all, or it finds it and seemingly connects to it, but when I play music, no sound comes out of either the phone OR the radio.
So while I'm driving, I'm forced to go to my radio's options menu, go to the Bluetooth section, go to the "Audio Player" section, click on "disconnect", then click on "Connect".
After that, the phone usually connects successfully, and then I can start enjoying my tunes, and it usually doesn't cut out after that.

Now when I was running on ICS build .229, I didn't have that issue AT ALL-- the phone immediately connected right up to my car radio perfectly.
So I know it's a Gingerbread issue; not with my radio or the phone itself.

Hmm..... I wonder if I'll die trying to re-sync my phone to my car radio all because Verizon delayed ICS. That would be a complicated lawsuit! xDDDD!!!!!!

Hmm...I've not had bluetooth issues, still on GB. In fact, knock wood, I haven't had much problem with my Bionic on GB...all the more reason I'm hoping for ICS and maybe even JB as I'd like to keep my Bionic (and unlimited data) as long as possible. ;-)

I remember reading back in November that Motorola said that it takes about 6 or 7 months for an update to be ready to roll out and we were all pissed that we'd have to wait until May. May would have been nice!

Considering that we didn't see the first build of ICS until late June(I think) we're doing pretty good. Only been 4 months plus whatever time MM spent on ICS before the leak.

Exactly. The biggest problem the Bionic ever had was that the hardware was light years beyond the software. If ICS had existed when the Bionic launched (or even during its active lifetime) I really think it would be one of the most popular phones on the network. The Bionic running Android 2.3.4 made about as much sense as a Core i7 PC running Windows 2000. The OS just cannot make use of the hardware.

Well that 2nd core on my Bionic must really suck then because it doesn't seem any faster on ICS leaks than the GB ROM I was on for the last year.

I didn't go past .232 but considering it was a leak I didn't assume that version had unleashed all the potential of the hardware.

Think I'll test this CM10 build sts-dev-team released today to see how it does. Feels pretty snappy.

I'm guessing that you are definitely in the minority here. That, or you do not really multitask much at all.

I totally agree. Mine was spitting fire even stuck on 1 Ghz. With the oc forced to 1.2 Ghz it's crazy, 3000 quadrant crazy.

Yea these are the quadrant scores on a stock bionic... 3000 for ics is a huge boost.

Yeah I just recorded a score of 2993. Apparently this is a great score but sometimes benchmarks don't have any bearing on how an OS 'feels' to the end user. And to me it does not 'feel' any faster than when I was on GB. Occasional homescreen stutters, and frequent game stutters in Angry Birds and Stupid Zombies. This is where iOS shines... it is snappy to the end user even though the hardware or benchmarks are not the best.

Looking forward to someday getting JB on my Bionic though!
