Motorola Teases Moto X Event Again; Final Official Press Shots of Moto X Leak

Motorola wants to make sure all eyes are on them this week. Despite all the obvious hype surrounding the device for weeks, Motorola sent out a Monday morning reminder invite for their press event on Thursday, August 1st for the big Moto X reveal.

Along with this bit of marketing fluff we wanted to share the latest leak from @evleaks. This pic is supposedly the final press render of both the white and black versions of the Moto X.

You didn't need to worry Moto... we aren't going to forget!

The "event" is going to be held from 8p until 1a in NYC.

Anyone know where/how the rest of us can watch online?

I have the sneaking suspicion that this thing is going to fly out of the door on Google Play if they announce immediate availability.

I can tell you as soon as I hear Moto 8x, $300 for 16 and $350 for 32, available only on play store. It will be ordered.

To me that would mean a couple of things.
The bootloader should be unlockable(this a huge thing for me)
No bloat
Should be updated within a timely manner
For 300 im sure some devs will pick one up.(this is huge as well)

Also, it seems to me the screen size is exactly the same as the Gnex. So ports from that would be pretty quick.

Time will tell. Im ready to get back to Android.

Why is that essential? If you can buy it on the Play Store at all is the only necessary fact. But I agree with you.

The likely hood of the bootloader being easily unlocked is far higher if its sold on the play store. Verizon isn't going to let it happen. So that's why that's a priority to me personally

or maybe I miss read your post. I read it as, why is the play store essential.

Yep, thats where I stand as well. If they sell them at VZW, there is absolutely no way they will be 300 plus the bootloader will be locked up tight.. It would destroy their ultra maxx and mini sales.

Yep. That's what I'm thinking too.

If it smells locked I'm just going to get an S4 off contract. If it's a Google Play only item then I'm buying two. You know they're going to sell out THAT NIGHT.
You can sell the spare for double on eBay to people who don't want to wait a month for it to be restocked.

they're nothing to talk about, but if i can get an updated phone from google on verizon, that's unheard of since galaxy nexus days. and since i'm on unlimited data i'll have to purchase out right so to me getting 2 phones for the price of 1 current phone that would be a big deal.

Ok maybe im picky, but these images look too much like a launcher. Im not a fan of any of them. But at 300 dollars off contract? May have to get one just to see what it can do....
