Motorola Droid Wifi, Not picking up

My motorola droid original will start to connect an will say the router is out of range when it is 2 feet away or it will connect for about 30 seconds then will disconect an will go forever saying out of range. Before it would soon as i turned wifi on it would turn off. Any ideas whats causing it to say im out of range? sorry for all the poor wording kinda of it a hurry.

My motorola droid original, when i turn wifi on, it will immediately will turn off and keep doing that till i shut off or put in airplane mode. When i am having some luck my phone will not pick up my home router or anyone else's router. 1 out of 20 it will pick it up an either will connect an get disconnected in matter of seconds or be unable to connect. how can i fix theses issues?
