Motorola Droid 2.1

Just from monitoring Motorola's twitter page, they are getting hounded with questions regarding 2.1 for the android phones, and they repeat the same response over and over. I even started to monitor @VerizonDroid on twitter to see if Verizon has been updating so far nothing.
I have a bet with my wife (she has the Eris), that her phone will get 2.1 before the Droid will.

So you might lose that bet.

Possible, which is okay with me since I normally get new phones about every 3 months until I met the Droid.

I used to see cool "long" commercials every 30 min on Satellite TV and local channels, then it got knocked down to a 3 second "Droooiid" and Now I don't hear it at all.... so the money is getting pulled and the hype is over.

Even if 2.1 NEVER arrives, I am still well pleased with my purchase. At the end of the day, I could care less about a new launcher, 2 extra screens, a new gallery, and live wallpapers. Live wallpapers, more than anything else, sounds like the biggest waste of time ever. Some of those aforementioned things would be pleasant enough, but I'm certainly not living or dying by their existence on my phone.

I am understanding of why people think 2.1 should be here already on one hand, yet on the other hand we just had an OS release around 12/11. It hasn't even been two months. Patience.

I installed the Sholes.Info MOD on my Droid and it crashes left and right.

Will there be problems with my phone when we get the 2.1 OTA update?
Will I be able to install it?

You'll have to go back to stock or install manually because the Sholes.info mod most likely blocks OTA updates.

Personally the only reason i really am interested in 2.1 is for the bug fixes and the performance improvements. The eye candy will be nice and all and i dont experience a ton of bugs or anything but everyone once in a while something just plain funky happens such as my bluetooth headset cutting out when i leave my house and my wifi disconnects.

I am also wanting 2.1 besides couple of the listed new features, but I really want is Google to fix the laggy browser scrolling in 2.0.1.

Mine scrolls as smooth as a baby's behind.

Even full sites with pictures? I don't believe it. I need video proof.

I think they will get it whenever they get it out and don't understand why everyone is still sitting around speculating without any sort of solid information.

I'm really getting sick of waiting! :-( I purchased the Droid with the understanding that we were going to get an update that improved the UI and possibly enable Flash...I'm starting to get deppressed. I guess I'm just going to have to Root...not looking forward to that :-(

The phone's only been out for 3 months. We should be lucky we are getting an update so soon. I wouldn't be surprised if the 2.1 came out early to mid March.
