Motorola Droid 2.1

Why do we need this update? My Droid is stable I really don't want want 2.1 just going ti use more memory and sliw the droid down.

I'm really just kind of pissed at motorola. If they wanted us to have this update, we would have it by now. Something doesn't seem right.

Something may not be right. I think it may be your expectations.

Blackberry doesn't release a new OS every week. When I had the Storm it was 6 months between updates. It hasn't been even 2 months since 2.0.1 was released. Patience. Or root.

When the OS is ready then Google/Verizon will release it to us. What's the big deal with 2.1 really, it's not that much different?

And you know this how? Maybe they really want you to have this update in the most efficient and optimized version they can provide. Sure their will still be things people will complain about. But did you ever think that maybe they are working on fixes for other things like Bluetooth Voice Dialing, or who knows what else. 2 weeks isn't a lot of time and there is very little wrong with 2.0.1. So if I have to wait another month before 2.1 is made available to make sure it works flawlessly(or as close to it as possible) I have no problem. I think there's a lot of people on here who don't realize what goes into programing and dealing with issues that most likely are unique even from phone to phone. I'm sure Motorola and Verizon are working to get a update released in a timely fashion, although some people will never be satisfied. I don't look forward to all of the "This is it?!" posts once it comes out when people are disappointed in any myriad of things with it.

Maybe someone can come up with a App that simulates a new Update , every day , that way people that can't wait will feel that a update happens every day .

obviously...? he rooted it. then put the 2.1 rom on. and people will think that he is some god or some google worker. that got a 2.1 droid.

i have the same thing if you want it like that.

and by the way. does ANYONE know if i can root 2.1? i rooted 2.0.1 then i made a backup using nandroid. then i loaded the 2.1 rom. and lost root.....

I've just received confirmation on this FACT. So go ahead, root, try out ROMs, and install 2.1 that way because that's the ONLY way you'll ever see it...
