So even though we have been told we will be getting a 2.1 update you think it will not come? What is so wrong with your droid that you need the update so badly? I mean seriously who cares if/ when we get it. We know we will get it we just don't know when. Until then enjoy your awesome phone.
If it came sooner, someone could say that the decided to step it up...
Put it this way. If it comes sooner, which is definitely a possibility, they DID NOT decide to push it up. The question is will they get it and then release it quickly. We won't see it before the 12th of this month.
When 2.1 comes out there are a couple features I think everyone will love.
I installed bugless beast and one of the features I find most wonderful is the 2.1 keyboard with voice input. What I like about it is that it is very fast and pretty darn accurate. I can speak my text messages much faster than typing or swyping.
I had previously tried Handcent and while it has the voice to text feature, it is WAY slower then the 2.1 keyboard with this feature.
Those that also are running Bugless Beast know what I mean.
When the 2.1 update comes to those that are wary of rooting I know you will all be thrilled.
Let's all just hope it's sooner rather than later that the update finally comes.
I had hoped for a little more from the Superbowl ads, and maybe even a mention of the Droid...

Nevermind, nothing for you to worry about Guru, you probably wouldn't enjoy it.
I think you may have confused voice searches with voice recognition. 2.1 offers voice recognition software in the keyboard, at least mine has it running Sholes 2.0.2 mod. It seems to work OK if you talk like a robot and pronounce your words slowly.

Yeah that last sentence is very true....its actually really overrated
