Motorola has begun selling the Moto G in the US a bit ahead of schedule...well kinda, sorta. The Moto G that is available right now is the SIM-free, unlocked GSM model sold directly by Motorola. The handset is selling for wallet saving $179.00 without contract. This particular GSM model is only compatible with AT&T, T-Mobile and the MVNO's that operate on their networks. The CDMA versions for Sprint and Verizon, as well as the GSM versions sold directly through carriers, will not arrive until January 2014 as planned.

The Moto G has no SIM lock, unlockable bootloader, 4.5-inch 720p display, quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 2,070 mAh battery, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, 1.3 megapixel front shooter, 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, and 50GB of Google Drive storage free for two years. We here at DroidForums headquarters think this is quite a steal.

For inquiring minds, the Moto G is scheduled to receive Kit Kat sometime in January. Head on over to the Motorola blog for more details.
