Missing Facebook Sync

I just bought a Droid 2 Global. I've been looking all over for a solution to this problem but no one can quite put their figure on it so I'll try asking here.

All my contact photos are synced with facebook. However, when they change their profile picture it does not change the picture in my contacts.

After looking around I find that a lot of people have Sync Contacts above Helpful tips in their facebook settings like this.

I do not have this. This seems like a reasonable start to solving this problem.

Any ideas?

I just checked, I do not have it either. I thought if I did something in Social Media app that it might change the screen, but no. I want to see what the answer is to this thread.

Go to settings accounts&sync, if facebook is not already an account make it one, go to facebook, check either sync all or sync existing contacts, if that does not syn right away. Go back to settings and click on ur facebook account then sync thru that, let me kno if this helps

In the My accounts there are two facebook buttons. One is smaller and checked off but only has the option to remove account and the other icon is bigger however when pressed nothing happens.

I'd love to hear how to fix this. Same problem here. Facebook shows updated pics (mine included) but not on my social widget. I've tried thesyncmypics app withmarginal success.

I feel like this a major problem and would very much like it if it was solved. I went into the verizon store and they all looked as me like I was asking them to make the phone float.

Is there anyone out there tat can help us?

Droid 2 FB Sync Issue is another thread about the same issue.
This is what solution I came to. I stopped using blur and use the fb market app with syncmypic and everything works except no blur widgets obviously. All your current contacts will have their pictures sync with fb, you can set scheduled updates.

The issue seems to be with the blur facebook account as it doesn't pull picture updates from fb. It only updates on first sync, and remove and adding the account everytime is long and fustrating.

As far as widgets go if you get launcher pro paid has widgets that are ok. They lack some features of blur but its an option.

Personal setup -> facebook from market with syncmypic. I don't use blur or lp widgets. Just use the fb app for checking.

This may also be occuring if your Facebook Settings in "Platform Application" is turned OFF.

To Turn them on:
1. Go to your computer and log into Facebook
2. Click on "Account" in top right corner
3. Select "privacy settings"
4. Down on the bottom left of "Applications and Websites," CLICK "Edit Your Settings"
5. Under "applications you use" click TURN ON ALL PLATFORM APPLICATIONS.

I had this same problem and it was because I "turned off platform applications" via facebook, not realizing this was the root of my problem. I was advised to reset my phone and I was COMPLETELY against it. And even if I had it would not have worked because it was setting in Facebook that had to be altered.

So finally, after doing some research online, I came across this information and thought I'd pass it along. I am spreading the word to help others with the same problem. Hope this helps.
