I just recently purchased a Maxx off eBay. Seller claims ESN is clear and phone is ready for activation on Verizon. It is used and also came with a modified Lapdock. The seller said it was originally for the Atrix, but he was able to mod the connection to fit the phone. Questions:

1. What should I do with the phone to ensure it ok?

2. What should I do to ensure the modified Lapdock is ok?

I know the obvious is to turn it on and test functionality, but is there anything in particular I should look for? Also not being too techy, what is the chance that something bad is pre-loaded on the phone that could make it vulnerable to security issues. I am assuming that I should probably do a factory reset just to be safe. Thoughts?

I would definitely factory reset or even use the Razr Utility to do a complete restore before setting it up...

Congrats on the buy and good luck!!
