If you are going to mod or root your device chances are you are going to need to get it to talk with your PC at some point in the process. Your PC can't talk to your phone if the proper USB drivers are not installed. Normally installing your USB drivers is as simple as turning on USB debugging on your smartphone and plugging it in to your PC. The PC then normally automatically finds the correct USB drivers and installs them. If you are not connected to the internet or if something goes wrong with this auto process you may find that the PC is not seeing your phone. If this happens you will need to install the USB drivers manually.
