Mass storage mode question

This is going to sound goofy but I am swithing from a droid 2 to a droid 1. On my 2 when I plugged it in to usb on my PC or in my car it would enable mass storage by it self. In my car my radio would start playing my music. Now that I have a droid 1 you have to hit the box to enable mass storage. This in not a big problem on the PC but in my car my radio does not like this. Is there a hack or setting to change that I am missing somewhere to enable mass storage when plugged in?

I have done searches on here and web and am coming up short.

There are apps to automount. Doubletwist also has an option in its settings for this.
