Market 3.0.27 - "Not installed" apps

Market v3.0.27 has 3 categories:
Updates, Installed, and "Not installed".

I have some apps that are actually installed, but show up in the 3rd category, so market updates for those app don't notify me. Neat, but how did they get into the 3rd category?

Just got that update too, now my apps are either listed as not installed, or unable to update after download... This sucks....

Both apps were from the market, and newer versions exist on the market.
I just don't get the update notifications for them anymore.
Which is good! I want to know how to move more installed apps into that category.

I installed Market 3.1.3
There is a now an option for PIN protection for purchases, and another category "Manual Updates".
