Manually did GB

I manually updated to the GB zip file. Loving it however I have 2 issues.

1) the sync arrows will NOT go away in the notification bar

2) I can't get to the stock boot screen to clear the cache it goes to the little DROID guy with the triangle but no matter what button I push it is stuck on that so I have to remove the battery

Any advice?

regarding sync arrows rename the file BlurContactsSync.apk to BlurContactsSync.apk.bak. From what I am reading it's Gmail attempting to sync with cloud account Gmail/Google

If that doesn't work then your only real option is wipe and factory reset....that is what I am hearing...and that doesn't always work. But apparently renaming this file does.

were do I access it to change the file name. I located the file using Astro file manager but can not figure a way to change file name. Also since I have installed the 2.3 leak rooted I can't open root explorer it always force closes.

I use adeo and it works great. I have root explorer but never used it. You just long press, edit, rename

Please post here if it works for you too

To get into recovery to wipe if rename doesnt work install droid 2 bootstrap and you will be fine. Just bootstrap recovery... wait for success.... click ok, then clickk reboot recovery and your there.

I would reset and wipe everything but I can't get to the boot screen to do it.

With the phone off, hold down the home button and power. When the android guy pops up, press both volume buttons. Choose factory reset. Then choose reboot. You navigate with the volume buttons and select with the power button.

you are going to have to wipe data/cache to get rid of the sync icon. renaming that .apk will force your google calendar and gmail to stop syncing i believe.

if you are indeed on Rooted GB, download droid 2 bootstrapper, bootstrap recivery then reboot recovery, navigate using up/down volume rocker and camera button to select to wipe data, and wipe it. then reboot phone. should be good after then. but then you have to set everything back up.

press both volume buttons together from the triangle to go to
recovery for wipe and cache
then use volume buttons for up and down
and power button for selecting..
camera button no need.. :))
