Manual sync E-mail on 3G?

I’m sorry if there is a thread on this. I looked but didn’t see it. I have several E-mail accounts in my Razr. I have a couple AOL, an Outlook and of course Gmail. When my Internet is on, my mail comes to my phone within seconds. When my Internet is off, I can only get my AOL E-mails if I do a manual sync. I’m sure I have something messed up. Any ideas? Thanks
