Managing Widgets?

How do you manage widgets? Are there settings like apps? I downloaded Weatherchannel and Accuweather but I want to change settings and cannot seem to find them. Is a widget different then an App in which you have no control over it?

can anyone tell me where i can find accuweather widgets? I have searched and can not find it any where. Thanks.
