Low memory question, plus, do i need all these Handcent Updates?

My D1 is getting low on memory and its causing lots of redraw. I went into ASTRO and delted some folders that were from APPs that I uninstalled and were apparently left behind. That helped for a couple days, but now it's happening again.

What else can I delete/ clean up?

I seem to have every update that Handcent has ever done. Do I need to keep them all, or just the newest?

What "caches" should I be deleting? Do I need an app to delete cache, or can I do that through the regular phone menu.

I'm not rooted if that matters, and everything that can be is moved to the SD card.

Storage and RAM are 2 different things. Low storage doesn't cause lots of redraws or lag.

Don't forget that the cache and data for your apps are in storage as well.

If you've been applying updates through the Market then the latest version replaces the prior. You're not accumulating updates so you can't discard former versions/updates.
