Lost swype after installing handcent program

My husband installed a program similar to swype called handcent, I think. Anyway now he doesn't have swype. How can he recover his swype keyboard?

Handcent is a sms messaging program. It may just need to be activated in handcent. Touch the white box to start typing then hold your finger there until a menu comes up. Select "input method" and select swype. It also could have been disabled in settings. From the home screen press the menu key then "language and keyboard." Make sure there is a check box next to Swype.
