Too many good phones seem to be coming up. I was going to get the Bionic as soon as it came out since I've needed a new phone for a while but the GSII and HTC Vigor are coming out within a month after the bionic. I think I'm actually going to have to wait for reviews of all 3 phones before I make my decision.

Anyone else in this boat?

don't count your chickens with those release date

Well the HTC Vigor do not look for that any time soon. May be December the earliest. Another phone with Bad battery life.. They should fix the battery issue before releasing anything. It will probably go the same route as the Thunderbolt That was suppose to be released November of last year and ended up being released February of this year. The GS2 If it has LTE that will not be out until late 4th Q the earliest according to my sources and without LTE I will pass on the GS2.. As of right now the Bionic is my only choice.

I think the GSII with LTE will be out sooner than you think Preach. Think about it, Samsung has built and released test units for 2 new versions of the GSII for other carriers within 3 months of the original's release. That alone proves they are highly capable of developing different versions of their phones for multiple carriers within a very short time period.

But, if the Bionic feels good in hand and it's screen doesn't look like shat, I'll probably buy it just because I want a new phone.

If I know that the Bionic was going to take this long to get released I would of never gave up my DX to my wife for her Storm1 last year.. I could of held on to it and use my own upgrade...

But you leave out the VZW factor... my understanding over the years is that their QC and testing is what frequently pushes release dates out. Vendor has phone ready and by the time VZW makes all their changes, it's a long time to market.

Like most others... I'm gonna wait until the Bionic hits the street and can hold one and put it through the paces. My D1 is limping along with frequent reboots, etc... but I'm nursing it until the Bionic is out. Hoping it meets up to the hype and I can get a replacement. The biggest thing I want besides LTE is enough memory so I'm not getting those "Low on memory" messages and having to choose which apps to keep or drop.

That would make me worry. If they are putting them out that fast I would definitely be worried about build quality. Samsung phones have never been known for this anyways.

I'm probably back in the wait for other phones boat. Still leaning towards the Bionic...but the LG Revolution 2 got my attention now. Supposed to have a higher screen res like whats been popping up lately, thin as an iPhone 4 and LTE.

News that the GS2 may have different internals, might not be LTE has it lower on my list. I got a feeling the Galaxy S phone thats coming to Verizon wont be like the GS2 thats overseas. It may have LTE...but I just have a feeling it wont be like whats overseas.

Depending on how far out that Revo 2 is...I may be getting the Bionic on launch day.

I'll just buy all three out of contract, throw two away..

I saw your other post like this somewhere...had me dying..lol If I get this job I interviewed for...I think I will be able to join you in doing that..

Did I miss something. Unless your talking about a version for a carrier besides Version, where does it say that the SGSII will be out a month within the bionic.

If it does release at such time, I don't see how it will be LTE. Have you noticed how slim the GSII is? Unless the changed it and made it thicker, then where are they going to fit the chip. 1st Generation LTE chips are pretty big from my understanding. Other carriers version of LTE is not the same, nor is the chip as big. And they already have to stack chips just to get them to fit in phones right now. Tablets with LTE can be thin because there is more room and no need to stack. I don't expect the next generation LTE chip to be out until after 2011 so LTE phones are gonna be fat.

The Bionic's LTE chip fits in the chin of the device, the thinnest point of the phone. I think we'll be seeing these thin chips in a lot more devices soon enough.

Samsungs made 2 new SGSII since the original one, they've both been changed a bit, so it looks like they don't have a problem increasing the size to add better hardware.

SgsII is pretty thin. If they increase the thickness then yes I agree its possible

They made the one for Korea pretty thin so I'm sure it can be done for its US counterpart. Besides, they've had a year at least to start working on LTE designs. I mean the Charge is a fine phone but since it's release and the release of the GSII in Europe, they could have a build ready for the US. I'm just saying that now I'm going to be waiting. At least for reviews of the Bionic and of any news of the GSII and Vigor come September.
