Logging cell signal strength to try to improve battery?

Is there an app which will allow me to log my cell signal strength? I am trying to figure out why I can not seem to get more than six hours of battery life out of this phone.

I don't use task killers. Is there an app that will prevent Android from loading certain apps into memory until they are demanded by the user? I would be HAPPY to wait a bit longer for an app to load in exchange for knowing for CERTAIN that the app is not the cause of battery drain. I've read about apps which don't "play nice" with Froyo. I don't see how I could track these down if they were causing problems even while I was not working with them.

I've tried System Panel, Watchdog, and OS Monitor.

Our app Open Signal Maps can graph your signal. Open it up and go to the graph tab, do some stuff, go back to the graph tab... and you'll have some signal readings.

It does a bunch of other stuff as well - like you the locations of nearby cell antennas and wifi routers.

Hope that helps.
