Links/suggestions to learn some basic scripting for android?

Looking to learn some basics about writing scripts for android, lol only real experince i have with scripting is html when i was 12 so very basic stuff would be good, and something explaining the basic structure of the android os

Look for linux or unix in the market. I think I saw a few books or command lists.
