there are soooo many replacement keyboards on the market

ultra keyboard, swiftkey, better keyboard, 8pen

but you gotta find what you like. just do a market search.

Better Keyboard all the way!! Or, if you're interested in something new, check out Swype or similar technologies.

I like ultra keyboard because it offers customizable swipe(tracing) and regular keyboard options...and offers many color options so not stuck with gray on gray like we have now.

Ultra keyboard is my primary choice but I also have Smart Keyboard Pro installed and the HTC_IME customizable keyboard as well...

I use Big Buttons Keyboard because the keys are.....bigger. That helps if you have big fingers, or in my case, shaky fingers. I used to make frequent mistypes on the stock keyboard because my fingers would hit a key adjacent to the one I intended to hit. It was much better if I used the stock keyboard in landscape mode, which has bigger keys, but it was a bother to change to landscape and then back to portrait after typing. (My DX is sometimes sluggish when changing from portrait to landscape, and vice-versa).

With Big Buttons Keyboard I type in portrait mode and rarely have mistypes. I'm using the free version. One thing it lacks is the microphone icon for voice entry. The developer said they plan to add that feature to their Paid version.

I'm kinda partial to TouchPal myself.

I used it for years in WM & now it works basically the same in Android.
