[ROM] [K]IN3TX v1.0 |12/8/11|

Ok... Hate to be the noob here, but I admit I am confused.

When I originally rooted my phone, (pete's, 4ever root 1.5 mo ago) I did a leaked OTA radio 5.7.893 update BEFORE THE Shifter rom and now the Kin3tx.

1. Is my update STILL the 5.7.893?
2. Is there any reason / advantage to doing this recent Version OTA version?
3. The Kin3tx is built on the 5.8.894 platform, but does not use the 5.5.894 "radio" correct?

Again, sorry for the remedial questions. But I have gotten confused with all the banter about what SHOULD be done for a better BIONIC experience.

I personally know I have had data issues lately, wondering if going back to stock and doing the OTA update will fix anything, or just waste my time.

Any help would be appreciated!

I dont know if you can get the update and maintain root but your probably just as good where you are at. I believe its pretty much the same. It is probably gonna take you off the update path but Im sure the Devs will have you coveredwhen the time comes.

I have another question, when going back to stock with root, does it change anything regarding the forever root process? Like do I have to do it again? Or does it stay intact?

I did it worked fine cked and still had foreveroot after OTA I then made a nanoid of it now I flashed rom back business as usual no problems. Just make sure whatever you do your foreveroot its easy enough to do and check and Im proof it works.

Yea I did the forever root and cheesecake deal when it was first brought in so I have that done.

But like I was saying earlier, is there a way to do this without plugging your phone to the computer and using the One Click? Like coud I just revert to my very first backup saved (I have no idea what its like haha) and then could I have the update?

Hmm so the update is out ey. I guess Im going to lose my settings going back to stock w/root, getting the OTA, then flashing Kin3tx. I need to write and draw out my homescreen so I can get everything back to normal lol

Yes.... If you have a forever root nandroid saved on your sd.ext

Im not sure if you will maintain root or not you should with forever root if you can get back to first rom you can forever root it without pluging in just remember you already have the different kernel and radio it might not let you get OTA but you are there already. your just not on upgrade path. Oh haha thank you!! :) Well now that this process seems doable, now idk if I want to risk bricking my phone and being phoneless until I get home, or take the plung and go through multiple reboots and flashing :)

Wooddale you bring up a very good point. I don't think flashing the original nandroid would revert me back to the previous kernel and radio. So even if I did revert back there, I dont think it would allow my phone to receive the OTA
