Just got pushed the 2.2 update. But some of the changes I was expecting are not showing.
- Should there be a google search on all browser pages?
- Some new widget on home?
Widgets aren't on the homescreen unless you put them there.
There is an automatic brightness setting now for the screen backlight.
Froyo has the JIT compiler enabled for enhanced performance. The CPU is clocked at 600mhz now, instead of being underclocked to 550mhz like it was on 2.0/2.1
5 home screens and within the next week you should get another minor patch that allows you to get Flash from the market. App draw is handled different. Changing home screen is by two methoids now. Etc Etc
Actually, a lot of apps didn't really need updates quite yet... Also, an OTA update is still being processed, so not everyone has the most recent update that will require people to have a sudden rush or need for updates.
I think you're looking into it too much. What you see is what you get. Graphically, it is almost identical. The browser doesn't look any different, just works better. Same with the home screen. hit your home button and you're at the 'new' home screen. There are a couple minor new features but as I said, what you see is what you get.
