Just got my X, few questions

Finally sold my Incredible...(incredible POS). I'm so glad I have the DX, it's frieking awesome. The reception is perfect, calls are crystal clear now. I can now make perfect clear calls from home, where the "incredible" wouldn't even connect to the towers.

I noticed the DX seems to get pretty hot when using it more than 10 min. My cousin just got his last week, and his battery dies in less than one day, is that normal? I found a comparison that showed best-to-worst cell phone batteries, and the incredible was the worst of 10 phones, and the DX was the best of all 10 phones. However I was getting about 2 days out of the incredible between charges.

I still have version 2.1 of Android, has anyone gotten the official VZW 2.2 yet as an OTA?

Is there an app that will remove BS program/scams like city id?

Are there any "must have" apps?

I've had the incredible piece of sh*t for 4 months, and had the original Droid before that. I'm familiar with most apps, but don't know if there's any apps more popular with the DX.

No official 2.2, only the leak...

If you want to remove apps you need to root and rename them to cityid.bak

Apps are Apps, if you install the leak 2.2 you can get a few new apps that only work on 2.2

The battery is better than the Inc., I had one but not by alot....

Not much more to add to what joeymoose has posted, but battery life is a work in progress - just keep tweaking until you find a suitable level...the extended battery is an option but probably only will give you an additional 2 to 4 hours (or less) - it all depends on how you use the phone...

Have seen references to the screen brightness (it is a big screen ya know) and of course the processor and data pushes all play into the battery life...

Avoid "aggressive task killing" if you use a TK as you can make the phone work harder using more battery as well...
