Jelly Bean RAZR/MAXX Christmas 2012 Update?

Can anyone confirm whether or not the Hotspot app hack still works after this update? (Entitlement Check) I cannot lose my hotspot, I'll hold out until it's certain that it still works. I have JB on my tablet, but I need Hotspot for the tablet when I'm on the road. Anyone? :)

Folks, I blew it last night...I forgot to re-root and then protect root in .211 before I upgraded to Jelly Bean, so I am now un-rooted and can't check entitlement. I still have my wife's phone to do, so I will NOT screw up this time, and using her phone as the guinea pig, I'll triple-check my instructions before posting the classroom.

Yes folks, I have informed MattyP that this information is correct. I am constructing a .214/.215 classroom in the true MattyP style. I will post soon. It will take you through all the steps and keep ROOT.

Stay tuned! :icon_ lala: (and please be patient. One small slip-up and you're gonna be sorry - like me :frown: ).

"True MattyP style" ... I'm all kinds of honored

FoxKat, you're AWESOME!!! :icon_ lala: :icon_ banana:

Thanks

This is exactly why I have my updater frozen with Titanium Backup ... every time an update gets pushed, there are problems with the build. After Jelly Bean has been out for a while, and the bugs have been fixed, then and only then will I go through the motions to upgrade. I spent days fine tuning my phone, and making it do just what I want to to do. I have Jelly Bean on my tablet and there really isn't all that much difference. Google Now is nice and all, and it's smooth, but I will patiently wait until everything is fixed before I jump off that cliff. :D

This right here! I completely agree 100%. I started to get excited and was going to roll back to .211 to get the update until i read this post and realized i did the same. This is no different than updating or upgrading to a new OS on your computer.

Ok so I finally got it to work and I rebooted my phone and it got stuck on the droid core/heart/electricity boot screen. Any ideas?

If you're talking about the screen with the spinning blue orb, just wait. It takes a good 10 minutes or more.

ROFLOL, sorry, but I was tied up with my own drama...getting root on my wife's RAZR. Anyway, good luck! It should work fine for you, just BE PATIENT!! :D

Attempted to DL Jelly Bean file and close

OK, Not sure if anyone can help me here....I have a Moto Droid Razr Maxx, rooted. I am currently running ICS .211. I started getting update and it failed, so I decided to download it and update it myself. The file I dl'd checks out but I get this screen (sorry, I can't screenshot in recovery so I had to take a pic w/ D3. In case the file isn't readable, it says:

qe 1/1

Background is I removed bloatware using Root Uninstaller. Nothing special...Madden, Golf, Emergency Alerts, someother nonsense, nothing that I thought was critical and nothing that affected my current operation. Only issue that I have had is my AOL mail does not work since middle of Oct (somewhere between the 16th and 20th).

Anyway, I am by no means a dev nor do I know much more than enough to be dangerous. Can anyone help? Thank you and I hope this finds you all well.
