It should be almost here, you know what i'm talking about

considering this is my 1st droid/smartphone ever only had it for like 1 month and gone thru 3 different roms... did the sbf thing.. and all.. it should have been bricked by now.. lol

You should see how many roms I've tried out on my D1...Pete's AOSP GPA series, CM7 Nightlies, PE 5, and a couple others in the mix. Funny part is it was never sbf'd, not even once. :icon_eek:

sbf=system base file I think? It's the file we use to return our phones to an "out of box, out of factory" state incase of something going horribly wrong and not allowing us to access even recovery.
RSD lite is needed to flash the file's software into the phone, some do it to see if it fixes any problems like random reboots, overheating, etc.

Umhhh, am I missing something cause my phone, and I think everyone's phone, has that option already in it.

Menu>Settings>Privacy>Factory Data Reset

or I thought there was another thing you could do too, but I can't seem to find the route.

Not the same?

Not quite, sbfing forces the phone to go back to a literal out of box state where it needs activation again, it wipes EVERYTHING. The system is completely formatted and replaced, in a way. (Not as scary as it might sound)
On another note...:D

ohhh, so if I do the way I said how would it be different exactly?

I like your SS :D lol, another stupid question, but what is the 2.4? I forget what's after GB and before Honeycomb (which is for tablets?) I thought it was supposed to be that Ice Cream Sandwich a ma jigger? haha

It's a build prop tweak I threw into Fenom, just for kicks :)
2.4 will probably be Ice Cream Sandwich, but that's for 2012 probably.
SBF will bring it to a fresh unrooted, unbootstrapped status, basically gives it a clean slate, with all the stock bloatware and apps.
It also wipes potential ROM debris (I certainly haven't noticed any) from the phone, deletes things that a factory reset will not delete.

i read that on their twitter page as well, thing is, im not sure if anyone has gotten it yet lol, no one has come here to say they have it or anything, im still waiting, maybe its going to roll out later today, who knows.

will rooting be possible at all for GB? Since i am outside of the US will i get the update or can someone provide the file for me?? please!

i use adw ex (although i have lpp) and im probably gonna keep the stock launcher, the reason being that its pretty nice now, its smooth, not ugly (especially compared to the launcher on our phones now), and its heavily customizable.
