It should be almost here, you know what i'm talking about

Patience, it'll be around eventually, just give it time. :)

On another note: IF YOU BOOTSTRAPPED, DON'T FORGET TO REMOVE BOOTSTRAPPER FILES VIA A SYSTEM(ROOT) EXPLORER(ROOT EXPLORER, FILE EXPERT(free) WILL WORK)
THE UPDATE WILL FAIL IF YOU ARE BOOTSTRAPPED
can't stress this enough

What's the name if the bootstrap file we need to look for and do we need to unroot our phones to get the update?

If its not Boeing, I'm not going! Team Boeing ROCKS!!!

man, im hoping someone gets it and posts it up already, this is the longest ive been completely stock since i first got this phone, first thing i did to this thing after activating it was root and remove the bloatware, i didnt realize how bad of a phone this was without doing that, cant use it for more than 5 minutes without it getting very hot and lagging, i need this update! lol

I've only recently got the A956, namely yesterday, and I've still to experience your issues, rusty815. Running stock .330 firmware, no rooting, no bloatware removal yet.
Getting ~12 hours of battery life with a stable GSM connection (in UMTS/HSDPA mode).

Sure, I'm also pretty eager to get 2.3 on this thing, but… there are limits, yeah?

You could've just left it rooted with bloatware disabled, and then un-root and such once you get that “Update available” message, no?

right now the phone runs at about 105-110F, it doesnt seem that bad, but when compared to when i had the phone rooted and undervolted, my phone rarely even got close to 95, it was in the 80's most of the time, i guess its because i have over 20 widgets, which wasnt a problem when rooted. also, the stock launcher lags like hell, my reasoning for using it is that im running stock, why not use the stock launcher? i guess it might be due to my use of a live wallpaper, although it hardly causes any lag when i use ADW EX

at least the battery life isnt that bad, im looking at about 10 hours of battery, i used to have about a 2 day battery life when rooted though, seriously, this phone could be so much better without all the bloatware, i just wish moto would realize that, the gingerbread improvements are definitely worthwhile though, cant wait for it.

oh, and to answer your leaving it rooted question, it took me a long time to unfreeze, unroot, and unbootstrap the phone, dont plan on going through that again until i get the update and find a way to root.

It should only take 10 minutes, I had a backup with everything pre-frozen lol. Just de-bootstrapped that backup, gonna defrost once update notification pops up

Unfortunately the app I use to freeze apps doesn't have a batch unfreeze option -_- so I had to unfreeze about 60 apps one by one, that's why it took so long lol, only took me about 5 minutes to unroot and un-bootstrap

Oh, so it's 43°C? I think mine gets that hot as well, with the protective case on and with the charger connected. Though this is pretty much offtopic, I guess.

...I think myself, I'll just wait for the “update available” notification to pop up by itself.

Ahhh lord I can't stress enough how important it is to make a nandroid the SECOND you've rooted/bootstrapped. Once I get word that the update is rolling out I will restore and delete the bootstrap, easy as pie.
