This I what made my decision easy, the bionic was $100 less right off the bat and I got another $50 back two weeks after that.
My wife and I got lucky, we bought our two bionics from amazon wireless for $150 a piece that included two $25 amazon gift cards. A week later they had their Bionic-costs-a-penny promotion and I emailed them to ask to be included in the promotion, and they did! They refunded us the $299.98 so overall, THEY actually ended up paying US $49.98 to buy the two phones! What a world.Got mine for $150.
If its any consolation to you it will continue to get good support. Moto and Verizon won't let it slip into obscurity just yet.

well u guys also have to take into consideration that android is a unix based (not linux thats the type of os andriod is not the base) os. which was one of the first operating systems created in 1969 Where RAM and CPU components were extremely expensive especially RAM. Because of that the os was created to run at the utmost performance on low amounts of cpu an ram quantities. ex. try an do a test with UBUNTU (linux os but Unix based) vs Windows 7 on 3 ghz single core processor with 2 igs of RAM. the windows 7 would lose by a landslide to ubuntu because of the unix base that hasnt change hardly at all in the last 30 years because of how well it runs on little to no hardware. so beefing up the Cpu an all is nice but it wont make much of a difference what would make the best difference is to stream line the bloatware/core bloatware built into the device's rom/os thats making the os act like an windows 7 os instead of a linux. cuz what is bottle necking the phone is the bloatware demanding ridiculous amounts of cpu power an RAM that could easily be fixed. lol look at a Japanese made phone the os an bloatware is so streamline plus a linux base that the hardware in the phone is only at 30% usage under a standard 100 percent bog that our phones would run into.I agree with many of you that Quad core doesn't make a huge difference and there will be a vast learning curve when it comes to utilizing all that processing power.
But unfortunately the fact is that the average consumer is more about the newest gadgets and technology whether they understand what that technology is or not, and the manufacturers are driving that to those types of buyers which in turn means that newer phones means software developers spending more time having to make their apps work with the newer technology and thus meaning that the older tech will either be left behind or with some devices completely abandoned altogether.
I personally think that dual core will be sufficient enough for the next couple of years and that the Bionic will be up to par with such said devices and many that are available today.
But I do agree that Moto is spitting out way too many devices and from some of the internet chatter i have been reading the consumers are not actually happy with this in fact it is having the direct opposite effect that they had thought it would have and buyers are feeling remorse before they even walk out of a store with their "new" device knowing now that in a couple of weeks or months that their new phone will either be forgotten or pushed aside for a "better" phone.
