I have been using verizions wifi the past year so I cacelled it for a while and tried FoxFi for a small fee it said I have to contact my carrier which is verizion so now I am back where I started.I also tried a couple others with no luck.
Is there any programs or apps that will work with my droidmaxx_hd
My cell is not rooted, but I would root it if I can get free wifi, tired of paying verizion $300.00 a month for a 4 phone family plan.

You need to be rooted. All the new updates have blocked hotspot for unlimited users unless you are already paing for it.

I like to root my phone but I read stories about guys bricking there phone.
Is there an easier one out there maybe I'll give it a shot.Where do i get the files at and whats the best program to use.
Thanks for the help.

There's still a one click root method for the RAZR HD line. Google it. It'll take you to a droidrzr.com post. In it there's a utility to root the phone.

U can use foxfi! On ICS it worked with no problem, but after switching to jelly bean it requires u to enter a screen lock pattern which is no big deal. After u use foxfi, all u have to do is clear all credentials and u can change ur security lock back to whatever it was. I'm using foxfi on a Note 3 with no problems... unrooted.
