As the title says. In the droid, is there a way to "unthread" SMS, MMS messages? I am not big on the threading that it does, and if there is a way to make each message come in as its own message that would be great!
@ashenfang I don't think there is a way. I was like you at first because my old phone had individual texts instead of threads but after a week or so I got used to it.
I understand the concept of threaded messages, making it easier to manage your inbox, but to me, it seems like message tend to get "lost". Especially so after you start to have several messages from the same person, it also becomes difficult to tell where a new message is at when it comes in.

I have 200 messages from 3 different contacts in 3 of 6 open threads... and have never experienced messages "getting lost". They are stored in chronological order, with date/time stamps and are colored (yours white, theirs light blue... I will agree that being able to change the colors within the stock app would be nice though. I believe you can do this in Handcent though). And it's easy to tell where news texts are. You get a notification and clicking it takes you directly to the new text. And beyond this, if you just open up your messaging app, threads are arranged based on most recent text, and threads with new, unread texts will be highlighted white.

i post the solution here as this is the first result you see when searching for a "unthreaded" message app. (i'm not affiliated with them, just found a solution)
I love the pop-up option on handcent. It shows a new text right up on the screen, over anything else you're doing, so you can see it, read it, and respond asap... all without leaving whatever you're doing.
