Is MIUI ROM over?

Not at all. You should read some of the other posts and catch up. The makers of the ROM are actually releasing a Milestone (Droid) version of Miui tomorrow. They are going to start using that one once it is release. They started having trouble porting the other one because the framework changed and porting created a lot of bugs. So it looks like we should have a new version this weekend or early next week.

Friday 19, MIUI Milestone adaptation will be officially released version.
Recommended features:
1. Desktop / text messages for the topic.
2. New T9 dialing.
3.Milestone adapter version.
Desktop:
Add the desktop for the theme.
Add charging display digital power.
Add program folder sorting.
Add frequently used folders can be placed in the toolbar. (Pending)
Phone:
Add new T9 Pinyin search.
SMS:
Add text for the topic.
Shows the total number of new messages, the total number of sessions.
Added SMS popup box to go directly to the session list.
Repair process of writing SMS messages can not exit back to the problem.
Deleted messages can not afford to fix the problem.
Contact:
Optimal picture settings page.
Settings:
Repair USB pop-up problem.
Optimization of power display.
Add more details page.
Add default browser settings page.
Other:
MIUI music (please download and install a network disk)

It's a complete overhaul of the android user interface done by some people in china. It's basically the equivalent of cyanogenmod in china. What I like about it is that it's totally different from any other mods available.
Do a quick video search, there's plenty of demo vids out there.
1st rule of MIUI, dont talk about MIUI!!!

I'm making a theme for MIUI, and I have to ask.... why so plain in some of the screens and menus?? ... I mean...really??... jmho
I really really love some of it's innovative touches, but things seem way off as well in this.... because, with the plain as all menus, you get these weird icons.... just wondering 'why?', out loud.....
