I wouldn't be surprised by anyone anymore. But as far as being scared about manually doing it I'm with you. I tried yesterday and it didn't work. I got it back to gingerbread and it's fine.

After A LOT of contemplating I decided to just wait. I've been waiting for it for so long that now it will probably make me really happy to get the update on my phone.

If I don't in a week then ill come back to the manual update.

I just tried using the Branpute method. Got through to step 6, phone didn't reboot and it got all borked up. I did a recovery and it did a complete reset, lol. Kind of freaked me out. Not sure why it failed though? Now I want to try again, but I'm fairly new to these phones and I'm not savvy to the new mini-pc's that these are.

I have the Blur ICS folder in my SD card though, lol. It mocks me.

Dude's location is Dayton, OH. I'm 30 minutes south of Dayton (just north of Cincinnati). Nothing here. Is the OTA availability determined by your phone number? If so, I have a Dayton phone number and nothing yet.

Guys, it has nothing to do with your location... I personally believe its just a random batch of IMEI #'s. But idk for sure.
