I got the update option today and I opted to update at another time.

I want to HONESTLY hear if anyone is happy about the 2.2 update (for incredible) and what it is that makes it so good.

I dont really care about getting flash

Droid 2.2 Update

NO. H_LL No! 2 system freezes making calls, 2 new dead spots on my daily commute drive, no data connection in my office, addition of Amazon MP3 app which I cannot delete.

And that's all I've seen on day one. Heading to the retail store today to find way to revert to previous OS or turn in the phone.

Seems like Verizon has changed the signal algorithms, resulting in weaker signals, as well as some system instability. Hotspot, new droid graphic, somewhat annoying audible intro on startup(cute but...)

I'm happy with it on my Droid 1. I did the full manual installation, which seems to help with problems.

To the OP, the OTA is mandatory. It'll keep asking until you install or root.

Daughter got the OTA on her incredible yesterday and is totally unhappy with it. Verizon pushed 11 new apps to her phone that she does not want nor use but can't delete them. The OTA changed her keyboard around, she is now experiencing reboots about every 30-40 mins and because of some of the new apps installed her battery goes completely dead (from a full charge) in 3-4 hours of minimal use.

But from what I understand, the OTA is mandatory so I am not sure you are going to get away from it unless you root.

Have you done a factory reset? I know with 2.1, the big deal was that updates wouldn't require a reset, but I found SEVERAL issues that were fixed by a factory reset. You gotta set everything up again, but it's worth it in the long run if it fixes the issues.

2 of my cousins still have d1's and use me for tech support, but they haven't had any complaints...
