IPhone 4 vs Samsung fascinate vs HTC incredible

so i got a droid 2 about a week ago and it is not for me.
i mean its a nice phone but i never use the physical keyboard, it keeps opening up in my pocket, and it is a little thick. I am probably going to go back to the Verizon store to get it changed. (I got it the day before the policy change on returns so I would br able to get the iphone if I wanted it)
so i cam trying to choose between which new phone to get (see thread title)
my priorities are
battery life
hackability (i would be fine hacking to say load newer software etc)
ease of use
and developement (i know how to develope for both iphone at droid)

if you could just write a brief explination also then it would be more helpful

thank you all

I can't really write on the others but the Incredible.

I love this phone. From the hardware to the UI everything works so well to me. I never lag or anything. The screen is perfect for watching movies, very light, and overall just a great phone. The only downside is of course the battery life, you really gotta keep it plugged in if you're a heavy user like me.

I don't like Samsung's UI which is why i didn't get the Fascinate. Other than the UI it was a nice phone.

I don't like iOS at all. It's very easy to use and all, but just not for me. I owned an iphone as just an mp3 player and hated the thing, sold it recently in fact.

thanks for the input

the thing is i dont really care about the ui that much just because i am going to be using adw launcher anyway.

on my moto droid 2 the portrait keyboard is a little hard to type on is it the same way for the incredible?

+1 for Incredible's battery life being terrible. Extended battery required for sure if you want it to last even a single day sometimes.

Fascinate's GPS sometimes still dosn't work (software issues solved, hardware issues still present in some phones). So if you go that route make sure the GPS works well while in the return period.

If you want hacka-ability then you should know iphone4 isn't for you. Personally I am getting it just ordered my bumper and screen protectors cause I have always wanted one and have been waiting.

Anyways my bud has an incredible stock and loves it the way it is and I have also seen the fascinate and it is a really beautiful phone

Don't forget to give the Droid X a shot even though you may not care for the size at first. Very quickly you will be hooked. Hackability of course would send you in the direction of the Incredible since the bootloader isn't locked.

But if you are willing to wait about a month you could always get the new HTC Thunderbolt! Awesome phone which will fill all your needs I'm sure.

Iphone would be if you want a simple phone that has no ability to customize or hack. It's nice and simple and good for women. No offence meant to women... it's just that many don't want to flash custom software.

If you jail break, the iPhone for sure . It's going to win hands down in battery and number of available apps. I'm not sure what you mean by knowing how to develop, but Android will be easier to get an app on the market but iPhone won't need to be tweaked for dozens of models.

My thoughts exactly upon reading that he wanted a hackable phone.

For hackability, the iPhone should not even be on your short list of options. It is *not* hackable, period. If you want hackable, stick with Android.

As for the Fascinate or the Incredible... it's hard to say. The Fascinate is a little newer, and might enjoy a little bit longer life in the developers community... but I feel like there is already so much more for the Incredible that that might be your best bet.

unless you're a real heavy user then you don't need to get an extended battery. I'm a fairly heavy user, especially on football days and the battery lasts. just expect to plug in the phone during the night when you go to sleep.

I have noticed lately that the battery life doesn't last as long. I only had the phone for two months....hope the battery is losing it's capacity so quick.

also the extended batteries also require a new battery cover, I believe, so expect the phone to be bigger.

Reading that one of his main concerns was wanting a super sexy phone I don't think he'll be draining his battery watching football ... lol. Just kidding. :)
