increasing data?

Was droid bionic running .902 rooted no real changes.
just flash my first rom (WOOHOOO)link above using teh steps, link above
i love it fantastic so glad i tried it surprised to see both the cameras working everything on it looks great.

the only thing now is my data seems to be. non existant.
i live in Coronado CA, we get San diegos 4G normally 3 bars of service at home.
now the problem is my signal keeps saying its roaming and when i try to airplane mode or turn data on/off or restart i usually find the network mode keeps changing to GSM only.
i would love to make this my main phone but with the data like this i'd have to switch back to my nonsafe side.

i'm wondering if there are any tips or tricks that i could do to increase or have my phone find its data again.

update. someone pointed out that the order is different on the step by step guide vs in the rom post. i also tried redownloading it.
i find if i follow the order in on the rom's page data lasts for about a day. then i lose it for ever.
