Handcent SMS is best text messaging apparently hands down. A lot of customization

3. Layar
4. Shazam
5. Scetch Online (Beta)

Facebook is also on there but that goes without saying.

Layar is an augemented reality browser. If you've used Google Navigation and gone into Street view/Compass view, it's just like that. It shows you the area as if you were standing right there. And when you look around (like physically turn 180*), the phone senses this and turns the phone view to match.

Layar isn't available for the Droid though.

Noooo, sorry I was a little impatient. I migrated for a G1 to a Droid yesterday. I didn't realize that isn't available yet. That is incredibly disappointing.

Can't believe no one mentioned Locale. I love that app!

If the pre-installed messager came with the options of handcent, I'd be happy. There's something about handcent that I don't like.

ok top 5

Handcent sms
Barcode Scanner
i Music
where
Astro - file manager

And for the person that wanted 20:

Youmail
Weather widgets
unit converter
tv.com
tipper
snaptell (when there is not a bar code just take a picture of the item)
slacker
robo defense
Quick prifiles
Mixzing lite
Google sky map
Bedside clock
Fishin' 2 go
weatherbug
Karl's mortgage calculator

Keeping it to just 20 was hard, I have a lot of apps I don't use a task killer and my phone runs perfect.

Yeah, totally! love this app, too.

I've been using spare parts. At least the transitions are sped up. Not much else, though.

I saw what you have written about the Nesoid app. That sounds amazing! do you know if there is any app that allows you to find any super nintendo games?

Im sure there is but Im not sure what it is. The site you can get all the ROM's for the games is theoldcomputer.com They have all the NES, SEGA, etc... I would check on there. Im sure they have a link for it

just d/l handcent. looks promising.

my fav so far has been Key Ring, but haven't tested it out, yet.

calorie counter is nice since you can scan in products you've eaten if they have a barcode, as well. and it lets u track exercise

here are my 5 (x2):

1) touchdown (exchange) - free for 5 days, $9.99 afterwards - it's worth it
2) wifinder
3) advanced task killer
4) astro (file manager)
5) game time lite (nba games)
6) places directory
7) open table (restaurant reservations)
8) ringdroid (ringtone creator)
9) doubletwist (copies music from your itunes to your droid - installs onto your pc)
10) google sky map
