There's days where mine is great, others where its poor on battery life. I froze a lot of the bloat. Turned off my automatic push. One thing that I know is I'm on the very edge of 4g. It switches back and forth a lot. But I have an extended battery and three standard battery for just this reason. Even picked up a Motorola battery charger just to keep them all charged.

I picked up 2 standard batteries on amazon for like $3.29 a piece plus shipping. The charger was like $15 bucks, it's small and works well. Small investment for just in case.

Yes the p893 is what I have, accepts a few different types of batteries. I work in a factory in the middle of no where. So my phone eats batteries there. I keep the charger in my truck with a battery in it till I'm in need. Just swap it out, fresh battery in phone and dead one in the charger. Charges the extended battery too which is a plus. So at all times I have three fresh batteries at my disposal.

Check this. Kill one of your batts totally dead on purpose. No power on so you know it would have to charge 30 minutes to come up. Daisy chain wall to p893 to phone. You'll have a power off charge display in less than a minute and be able to boot in 5 minutes. Crack the case on the p893 and look at the board in the little sucker....smokin' cool. Not your dad's charger. Roswell alien tech stuff.

as of this minute 13ish hrs off charger (since 7:20ish AM central), still not quite red zoned (gotta be any minute), moderate use. no streaming I can remember today (drove back/forth to work, used car stereo for ESPN radio, usually ride transit to keep miles off my ride on weekdays, 50ish mile stop/go 18 mph avg rd trip equivalent to about 200 miles of wear and tear on car and $8-9 in gas daily versus less than $3 on transit pass and LESS time) But talked 5 times average and still probably 150 or so texts and some browsing, few forum posts, etc.

I am starting to get the feeling that a lot of the programmers from Blizzard Entertainment went over to Motorola. With Early seeming to have developed the same meaning to Motorola as Blizzard means Soon.

My bionic's been running great since .238. Battery Life is fine all day. Never see below 40%.

I should mention that I did a factory reset right away after flashing.

Well, f*ck it I'm going to install .232. Been waiting, the last time I attempted to install a leak, one of the 4 digit ones, my bionic got a boot error and I was scared into waiting after fxz-ing back to gb. But I have a new device now and the anticipation/waiting/boredom is killing me. Here's to better luck for myself this time! huzzah!

I am running stock out of the box and couldn't be happier. I'm not a tech or anything like that but my phone has been perfect, so why mess with perfection.

How necessary is a factory reset BEFORE installing the update? Is this something I should do?

I didn't do a factory reset, just cleared cache before installing. 232
I have not rooted yet, but did backup certain things on my computer just in case...that being said, I've only been back up for a couple of hours and so far so good. Waited till today, hoping for that soak test or OTA ...should have done this sooner!
