webtop 3.0 is awful and i want to get back ubuntu like on webtop 2.0
i've seen posts that indicate that ubuntu can be installed alongside android:

How to Install Ubuntu on Android! | Android+Linux=AndroLinux
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-bionic-hacks/210809-webtop-mod-ubuntu.html
Install And Run Ubuntu On Your Android Device With Ubuntu Installer - Download Now | Redmond Pie

i assume it won't launch automatically like webtop on docking, but presumably i can use HDMI mirror mode or some other method to run ubuntu from my phone using PC mouse/keyboard/monitor

has anyone done this specifically on razr with stock ICS?

I did this running stock ics. I had some problems with getting ssh up and running but it did work. I found it a bit slow but am curious to someone else's experience. Good luck.

Which part are is giving you a problem?

I rooted the device and kept the rom on STOCK. I did not do a kernel mod.
I went through the directions in this app - http://goo.gl/oFV4H

i've gotten as far as launching the VNC viewer but all i see is a blank screen called "root's X desktop" with an X that i can move around with the touchscreen
maybe this is the ubuntu GUI, but there are no icons or any apparent way to do anything

i finally got this working, but agree that the GUI is pretty slow with this config
unless there's some specific software you need ubuntu to run, i wouldn't recommend this as a way to restore the webtop 2.0 experience
