90% of people who attempt this run into problems. Honestly i would suggest waiting for another day or two. If you do decide to do this make sure you already have matts utility downloaded on your pc...(pc not mac) and that you have the data cable that came with your razr and that you have a 100 percent charge...as well as an exrra charger laying around incase your battery goes dead if you brick your phone. That way you can splice it and hard wire your battery. I would suggest the easiest route to ensure no issues is use matts utility first. Option 1 only then install from sd card. Verify you have the ota on your sd card as well.

Wow. I guess I was lucky. I had zero issues installing by following (mostly, lol) the updated instructions in the first post of Install thread. I did start at the bottom of the initial post and do the "pre-install back to stock procedure because I had rooted my phone. Since installing ICS, a couple of hours ago, I have removed or disabled all the bloatware (tips & tricks thread), synced my accounts, installed my favorite weather widget, and even RE-ROOTED.

Still have no issues, so far this is the best thing I done since getting my Razr.

Check SETTINGS / PRINTER SETTINGS.

Looks like it is now imbedded.

This was a nice surprise. I already had Motoprint installed, but to see it embedded is great!

Ok the more i play with ice the more i do actually like it over gb....great for what i do and thats multi task. Im still waiting on my phone to get a full charge that way i can test battery

I'm no expert by any means but from what I read on here I don't think you can get any OTA updates if you are rooted.

Not true...I have it on good friendly knowledge that rooted phones can and will get update, but may lose root in the process.

Two comments...if you follow the instructions explicitly you should result in having a successful update. However, if you are even the least bit uncomfortable, trust your gut. Mistakes can be costly in time, frustration, anger, research, repeated attempts to correct, and possibly hard-bricking. Don't risk if you are not completely confident, and even then - give it a second thought before jumping in without a life preserver. IMHO

Rooted or not after installing the ota matts 1.7 utility can root very easy. Im on 4.04 rooted no problems just make sure you have the correct drivers

I don't understand why everyone is going crazy trying to install it on their own now. You are all closer than ever to the ota update why lose patience now?

I'm with ya. I think the up and down of people thinking they are getting only to find they aren't again and again has made some people snap.
