ICS this week?

I saw ICS on my friend's MAXX today. Not sure if I like the look of it or not. I guess I'll probably like it once I get the update on my RAZR.

i don't like it honestly as much as i thought i would. i could have waited.

Personally I liked the look of 2.3.5. I did come from an older version of GB so that's probably why I like this one so much.

Who has used matts utility with success? Ive been waitin here in cali and if i dont get the update by the time i get off work im going to force the update. Whos had success? And who hasnt?

Lol when this started it was....I need ics where is it......now it is, I wish i would have waited, I don't like it

I think with all the hype, some folks expected something REVOLUTIONARY and are disappointed to some extent. I think if you set the expectation that it is an EVOLUTIONARY step for the OS, you will not be disappointed. It is a more polished and smoother OS with nice (albeit different) UI enhancements along with a some additional features. Nothing Earth shattering and certainly nothing that could not already be had under GB with a rooted phone and alternate launchers, TiBackup, etc.

If you keep it in perspective -- it's a good upgrade. I think more folks will be pleased than displeased.

Kinda reminds me of the movie Fanboys, when they finally see episode one. LOL

"Hey guys what if the movie sucks?"

Me! I just did, now running the famous (or infamous, depending on your point of view.. lol) ICS!!!

I had no issues what so ever.

Imagine my horror when I realised I had accidently skipped step 7, the one you're supposed to do TWICE!!!

But, again I had no issues at all. I'm glad I didn't wait, that's my 2 cents. Now I'm off to sync and explore...

I forced the update and it couldnt have been easier. I was stock GB because I never got around to rooting my Razr. Its just not as easy or fun as my original Droid or DroidX lol. ICS is neat looking, and I just might root it and start playing with it more. But even stock ICS is nice to look at and fast. If I can force the update, anyone can :(

Ok thanks. Ima do it after i get off of work. Tired of wsiting. Gettin to impatient

90% of people who attempt this run into problems. Honestly i would suggest waiting for another day or two. If you do decide to do this make sure you already have matts utility downloaded on your pc...(pc not mac) and that you have the data cable that came with your razr and that you have a 100 percent charge...as well as an exrra charger laying around incase your battery goes dead if you brick your phone. That way you can splice it and hard wire your battery. I would suggest the easiest route to ensure no issues is use matts utility first. Option 1 only then install from sd card. Verify you have the ota on your sd card as well.
