I think the reason they asked if you were making this up or quoting somebody is because in your original post you said Google pushes the update . However we all know that is not true because Google only gives the code for ICS to Motorola. Motorola has to build the update and Verizon has to approve it before it can be pushed out . Google has no hand in the update process .

Plus, the activation date of your phone has nothing to do with when you receive the update. This myth has been proven to be incorrect update after update for phone after phone. The entire comment was incorrect, which isn't surprising given how little many reps actually know about the update process.

I follow on both reasons... hence the SUPPOSEDLY and the beware lol. I'm sure you wouldn't be surprised with some of the crap I've heard from VZW..... I've heard some whoppers.
