ICS not ready for prime time yet...

I really like the layout and direction that ICS is going, the smart actions app is a great direction for ingenuity and eventual growth of DROID OS's... But, there are a few bugs on this new edition of the bionic OS and probably the main reason it hasn't been released yet via OTA.

Some of the bugs that I have ran into in the two days that I have had this release on my phone, are so called "show stoppers", from force closes to apps on the main OS that don't work such as video editor lite. Programs like the deck dock or car editor that glitch and are slow to run add apps to the main screen...

Others like the music app that keep running even when you get a phone call and answer it... But, hopefully within the next couple of months they will iron out these bugs and we'll finally have an OS that is worthy of the bionic name!

I'm running .2233 and have been for a few weeks now . I'd have to say it is flawless , I have had no problems or fc's of any sort. If I were to complain about anything it would be the lack of a charge only option while plugged in via USB.

Yea, that is also on the .232 version as well, slightly annoying, I changed mine to the camera option so it would be less annoying... lets all make a list of the bugs, those who downloaded ICS of course...

Before you start making a list of bugs, I'd ask you to detail the EXACT step by step of how you installed any of the ICS leaks. Is this a completely clean install? I.E. FXZ to 902, OTA to 905, install the ICS build and then reset up your phone from a factory state? Or is this some kind of upgrade and/or restore scenario?

That's not a Bionic ICS issue, the charge only option was simply omitted from the ICS OS as a whole. Look at a Galaxy Nexus and you will notice the same USB options.

You know, I haven't had a single FC on .232 and was just using Video Editor Lite. And there's no way it's gonna take them another couple of months to release ICS, if they did it wouldn't even come close to being on target for an "early Q3 2012" release. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if .232 ends up soak testing, as the leaks seem to have dried up at the moment. Makes me think .232 has made it to Verizon for final testing.

I was only saying that the charge only feature not being their is my only complaint. Be it a Bionic issue or an ICS issue . Either way I'd like it back .

The idea of it not being ready for prime time is crazy. This leak is rock solid for me and many others. IMO this ics leak is more prime time than any official bionic rom released hands down.

It isnt really an issue. You set it to MTP and your internal and external memory is available to both the phone and the PC. If you dont like the popup in windows you can turn that off. And your phone charges. You will basically not know the difference.

same here i love it. I froze all the verizon bloat crap and so far phone is doing great. It was horrible before with the other 4.0

On some phones it's still there. On mine it is. And yes I'm running ICS.

Yes, but that was HTC's choice to put it there in their custom applications framework (Sense, is it?) - it looks exactly like the USB connections type menu in Honeycomb on an HTC Flyer. It has nothing to do with ICS itself. Moto went with a more "stock" experience in a lot of ways with their ICS implementation of "Blur"

The funny thing is, I never had to use "charge only" on Gingerbread. All ADB operations worked just fine with the phone in USB mass storage mode. I actually never found a use for "charge only".

Camera option. What do you mean

One of the USB modes in ICS is "camera mode", IIRC.

EDIT: Yep. ICS has 3 USB modes:

Mass Storage
Media Device (MTP)
Camera (PTP)

Camera mode makes it act just like a digital camera with Windows 7.
