I have no idea how to just flash back to the stock version of the ics kernel for my phone. Im a nub with all these phone mods and just want to return to the original state, i feel like the kernel i have flashed to is causing issues. Please help! Thanks a lot.
The Droid 4 has a locked bootloader, meaning you can't flash custom kernels. If you're running a KEXEC based rom, then you're running an alternative kernel, and all you have to do is simply switch back to stock or a standard rom.
Basically: there are only two kernels for the D4, stock & kexec
Hmm, well the link below is what i used. It was a lame attempt to overclock the d4 but now i dont care so much for it anymore. Not worth all the trouble to me so how do i set it back?
I have no idea what that link did to my phone, thought it would allow my set cpu app to increase the clock speed. and i haven't backed up anything. I'm sorry if i sound like an idiot. Im so lost -___-
If you flashed the .zip, you will likely need to SBF/flash back to stock. If your using bootstrap, you can just flash a new rom or swich back to your non-safe system and verify things are working OK.
What you flashed isn't a kernel, it is just 'modules' that enable the changing of the CPU speed 'slots'. The version in your link isn't ICS compatible yet, there is a version in the RAZR section that has been updated to work with ICS.
I see okay I'm understanding it now. Well I flashed using the rom mod application. The thing is im not sure what rom to flash to or how to revert back to original setting. I didint use bootstrap, or backup anything because i have a bad habbit of never backing data up. But there should be an easy way to just remove this mod right?
