I want my phone to light up when I get a text.

If you mean wake the screen there are a few apps that will do this. If you have handcent you can enable popup and have handcent wake the screen when you get a txt.

I really need an app for this? iPhone, where are you? :(

Why do you want your phone to light up when you get a text? I have Handcent installed, and played with the pop up feature for a bit. I realized that having the screen pop on with the text right on the screen for all to see is not a good idea. I don't need anyone reading my texts "accidentally".

That being said, I'm pretty sure you're just here trolling as evidenced by your closed thread.

Or you can use Tasker and setup a task to do this, you can even create a popup of the received txt and jump to the sms app.

I do this because I love the features of Handcent, but really rather prefer the look of the stock sms app.

PS- Otherwise, its not the end of the world.....so calm down.

LT......you hit the nail on the head. Options is what Android is ALL about. Go get your iphone and see how many options you have for notifications Azeez. Android gives YOU the option of how your phone is working, on the other side Apple makes the choice for you if you like it or not.
