I THINK tht I've rooted my phone. How do i begin to Customize everythin?

I believe that I've rooted my phone because i see the icon of superuser.. but too my previous knowledge.. my phone said there was an error downloading z4root.. so i restarted my phone and then i saw the icon in my apps section but i don't see z4root anywhere.. So how do i make sure everythin is working fine aswell as customize everythin (icons, color, themes, everything).

Install any app that requires root permission, and when you run the app a pop up should notify you that the app is requesting root permissions, with the option to decline or allow.

Where you get all your apps, in the market. Just do a search for root and you'll get a good list of apps that require root. Most definitely install busybox. Customizing everything isn't that easy. Do lots of research and reading before proceeding. You'll get great help on here so don't be afraid to ask. We were all clueless noobs at one point.
