I think the sensor has failed

my wife has a problem everytime she calls someone the mute button or numbers get hit and so on. I have tried all the suggestions you have given like get the hair out of the way. This wasn't a problem when she first got the phone. So are we stuck with a refub?

Since I have been running the latest bugless beast I have been face dialing only when I try to hold the phone between my head and shoulder. This never happened before.

There is a known issue with long hair and the Droid's proximity sensor. I've read of many cases and I think the only solutions have been to hold the hair out of the way, use a blue tooth headset or use speaker phone option.
