I'm on the 215 leak and i think it's time i rooted my first smartphone, i wanted to root my old x but was told i couldn't after the last update that phone got

Option 2 is root for Ice Cream Sandwich (and it will work with .215 as well as the stock .211).

So...my bad.

Yeah, the WIFI Hotspot will work if you pay for it now.

My wife doesn't on her maxx, so if i root her in jb she will be able to hotspot when rooted

Root doesn't give you the ability to Hotspot itself. There needs to be a change to the "Entitlement" value in a root file in order to make it not check to see if your phone is "entitled" (enrolled and paying for), the Hotspot.

If you use this app you don't have to do the entitlement hack, well I didn't have to. Just another option to look into.

You've confirmed this works with 98.72.16 Jelly Bean?

I've tried it and it doesn't work on my phone to give wifi to my tablet without the entitlement hack performed. It won't authenticate in the auto mode, and the other two options get no further.
