HTC thunderbolt release date!!!!!!!

So, I was browsing around on eBay, and I just decided to search HTC thunderbolt. And at the top of the list was a listing for the actual phone. Current bid was $500. I read the description and it said that the phone would be shipped on or before march 8th. I message the seller and he said that that is the set release date. But he wouldn't tell me how he came about the phone. So I guess we will have to wait till march to get our hands on the almighty phone used by Zeus himself.

Sounds like a scam. What you pay now.. then wait months to get your phone maybe forgetting all about it by then..? Or maybe he'll use his New Every Two then, which Verizon I believe is dropping as of this month from what I understand..? Doesn't sound right, ethical, or possibly even according to Ebay rules.
