HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

Whatever the ETF is, it goes down by a whole $5 each month! I think we're jumping the gun a little bit, though. We have to have an announcement and purchase the phone AND have it for 14 days before we have to worry about an ETF

Depending on how HTC responds to Verizon’s conditional final approval of the device, we may or may not miss those anticipated dates.
Translation: Nothing new to add... It may or may not rain tomorrow. Bring an umbrella... or don't...

According to an inside source, Engadget is reporting that...

Lol. It takes yet another mysterious insider (who no doubt has a 0 in 30 Thunderbolt rumor accuracy at this point) to tell them that Engadget is reporting something?!?

...the actual release of the phone hinges on HTC agreeing to requested fixes and updates to be included in future firmware updates following launch. It is pointed out that this process typically takes two to four weeks. If this holds true, we may indeed see the Thunderbolt on March 21st at the earliest, though given the pressure to release the handset we don’t see why things might not move quicker for a release on the 17th.

Huh. I had no idea it was possible to write something that adds less than nothing. So some arbitrary pre-release discussion between 2 companies about post-production software updates that won't be ready for weeks has a well-known, 2-4 week duration.

On an unrelated note... If I create a blog, post utter nonsense about the phone you are all waiting on, and get my nonsense picked up by other blogs, will you click on the ads for me? I'm feeling a 3/14, 3/17, 3/21, 3/24, 5/15, 5/28, 6/1, 6/7, 6/18, or 6/24 release date... I was hoping to chunk that up into 9 or 10 different posts, so please keep clicking on the ads. I'm getting married soon and I'd love it if you could all pay for my wedding.

If you Google it or use the link above, the advanced device ETF is $350.

conditional approval= you WILL fix ALL the issues in a VERY short time because we are not going to deal with all the returns and complaints from upset customers : )

This release will be some good theatre!!

And we get a front row seat. I could care less, since I get my "fixes" from XDA, LOL
Lol well good luck! Better you than me : )

Yes there will be some theater especially if all this anticipation and waiting result in problems. I sure hope it dont. But I will be using that phone extensively if I get it and if there are major issues I will send it back and just wait for the incredible 2. Oh and I will get to hear CK say "I told you so." :icon_evil:

Pc I just hope no leaks/rumors come out about the HTC Pyramid soon after the TB is released: )

Its for T-mobile :icon_evil:. You know like I know that this is not the year of the great android devices for vzw. The one device I am worried about is Samsung and I think we will see another Fascinate (Galaxy II) and I would not be surprised if it was Vzw version on the Stealth. With that said IF that happens it wont be until late Q4. And since I am signing a 1 yr deal I will be all set for next year and hopefully vzw steps up and bring in more device, plus by then OEMs will have a years worth of experience with LTE under their belt. I said it many times, even if I get the tb I know that the tb is not a 2yr device, being its last summers hot device (aka evo). The tb will be a phone to play with until next year....so basically I am settling.

This is what worries me. I'm trying to figure out whether it's worth getting this with the unlimited data plan or taking a chance and waiting for the Bionic and getting spanked with a tiered data plan -- which may be the plan for selling the bionic...

My current plan is to hold out for the Bionic, but if they announce the new plans I will settle for the TB before the new plans go into effect. I assume we will have some notice before they go into effect though.

miami omg are you serious?!?! so my suspicions were right? ive had the feeling all along that the blunderbolt was a hypebeast for LTE, and not even a production handset. Am I right miami? :icon_eek:

No you will see the bolt in retail stores. When vzw and HTC can agree. By then we could have an LG or bionic coming soon lmao
you mean the LG revolution?

I am in a horrible spot, my d1 is unusable, I can go "upgrade" to a new device, but then I have 14 days to return it + a $35 restocking fee...

im in the same spot! and idk what to do! i have the verizon store ordering me a dx but i dont know if i should get it and take the chance, praying that the tb comes out in 14 days, because the 35 isn't a big problem, but i know with my luck it will be the week after that and i'll be with the dx untill july! i just want some solid info on the release date so i can plan! haha my env touch barely opens anymore
