Like some farts... :)

HA!! Exactly!! LOL

*shakes head* This thread is incredibly sad. There's no reason they couldn't do a silent launch though. If production's an issue they could just release it and advertise it heavily after enough stock is available. Solves the iphone return problem too.

A little humor in it now and then is a nice thing, instead of the constant complaints and whining. It's a nice change. Why so serious? :)

Yep its called a silent launch...happens all the time

Not for such a high-profile launch. Unless you have some inside knowledge otherwise, I would highly doubt they release without letting people know it's coming.

Oh they said it @ CES....... as far as ads go... we'll see as the week moves on....

Maybe during the 500 tomorrow we will see an ad or two.... no guarntee but maybe

more commercials like what some have already seen, or new launch date ones?

kinda makes sense to do a silent launch if they're as short-supplied as some are claiming.

Makes sense to me as well...

Also...

Would it be logical to consider that a silent launch would be better for the new system? I'm sure 4G has been tested but I doubt they've been able to test for thousands of new devices coming online in the same day. Everyone that gets it will be playing with it all day for a few days putting a load on the 4G network.

I would think that a gradual load increase on the network would be better than opening the floodgates all at once.

Thoughts??

a thought i was also going to offer. a single device coming to support a network no one has used on a mobile device that wont have 4G coverage as advertised with the exception of several locations isnt the easiest thing to advertise strongly.

Am I the only one who laughed when I watched this? The information is cool but the voice is absolutely awful, on par with the wirefly guy, especially when he says the "it's not your dream phone its the one after that". Seriously cringe worthy. At least they're advertising though. There have been worse. (Palm Pre anyone?)

If this is the problem, the unemployment lines in Basking Ridge, NJ should get a WHOLE lot longer soon. This is last year, first-meeting, brain storming material, not 1 week before launch discussion

I wasn't going to say anything, but I completely agree. Simply horrible.

are you talking about the audio quality? What is horrible about it? It's just a guy talking about a phone.

Been lurking for a while, can't wait for the TB to come out! Still going strong with my OG Droid but the battery is starting to die, phone is running slower, headphone jack is hella touchy, etc.

I talked to my local Best Buy yesterday and the guy said he's not exactly sure but he hopes that it'll be released by the end of the month. Take it as you will.

Also, this may just be me. Go to Best Buy's homepage. In the ad with a bunch of phones, is it just me or is one of them a Thunderbolt? dancedroid

He was painful to listen to. Droll and boring. No excitement, which unintentionally serves to undersell. I think a lot of people would quickly lose interest and quit watching, and that means it's ineffective.
